Eligible Year 12 graduates can access fee-free apprenticeships, traineeships and training in high priority areas within the calendar year after graduating.The fee-free training applies to high priority qualifications (PDF, 117KB) available under the Queensland Government’s Certificate 3 Guarantee program or User Choice program, which funds workplace-based apprenticeship and traineeship training. High priority qualifications are qualifications which provide training in the skills most needed by employers and industry.
To be eligible for a subsidised training place students must meet the following criteria:
— Have completed Year 12 in Queensland and hold a Senior Statement issued by the Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority or equivalent certification
— Enrol and start an apprenticeship, traineeship or training, with an approved training provider in a high priority qualification by the end of the calendar year following completion of Year 12
— Permanently reside in Queensland.
